About Living History
Travel back in time as our Living History actors guide you on this free tour and portrayal of the early days of Dallas when West Texas rancher Will Lewis commissioned the French Renaissance mansion (1915-1917) for his debutante bride, Willie Newberry.
Together, with architect Hal Thomson, they created one of Dallas' most beautiful homes.
Second owner "Rena Munger Aldredge" leads the tour, introducing you to "Flora" the maid, "Martha" the cook, and "Jesse" the chauffeur with the 1915 Packard he drives to squire the Lewis family around town. "Dr. Leake", Willie Lewis' family physician, and "Hal Thomson", the prolific architect, also make appearances.
